5 Technologies You didn’t Believe could Actually Exist! Jan 08,2020

Change is the only constant. Technologies have been kept evolving with time. Innovation played a vital role in the advancement of technology. The simplest possible form of technology can be developed by using basic tools and developing something from it.

There were some concepts of technologies earlier, which sounded impossible to implement. Today, this blog will give you an insight into those technologies which we thought were not possible to execute, but now exists and are applied in various fields.

5 Technologies you never thought to be true:

1)  Generative Adversarial Network (GAN):

GAN is a class of machine learning (ML) systems. This technology is an implementation of a technique that learns to generate new data with the same statistics as a training set.

Simply saying, GANs can learn to mimic the input data and output something looking almost similar to it. For example, in the photographic world, if a photo is shown to GAN, it can generate new photographs that look at least superficial to human observers. The above-given image is generated by styleGAN. It was first proposed as a generative model for unsupervised learning. But then it was proved useful for supervised and semi-supervised learning.

GANs can be used in the crime branch in an investigation to identify the intruder's face. Further, it can be used in fashion designing field, as it can create photos of imaginary fashion models, there will be no need to hire a model or any photographer. Scientists have a lot of advantages of GANs. GANs could improve astronomical images that are captured by the camera on satellite. Other various fields use GANs in order to get improved results.

This, according to a study, is the coolest idea in machine learning in the last 20 years.

2) Cognitive Technology:

Cognitive technology is a technology that copies the functions as same as a human brain. It mimics the functions through various means including natural language processing, data mining and pattern recognition.

Cognitive technology uses a mixture of AI, neural network, machine learning, sentiment analysis, and contextual awareness. A neural network is a series of an algorithm that tries hard to recognize any relationship in a data set just as a human brain would do. This technology is used to solve everyday problems just like humans. Cognitive technology could itself be considered a subset of biomimetics. Biomimetics is the process of the imitation of the models, systems, and elements to solve complex problems.

AI is also helping in the automation of tasks such as automated ads, automation in digital marketing, home automation, etc. Netflix’s success can be an example of the implementation of cognitive technology. It executes AI technology to generate user recommendations. And this leads to the enhancement of the streaming quality of Netflix.

3) Edge Computing:

As the adoption of cloud computing is going on, more and more businesses are migrating to a cloud platform. Cloud computing is trending technology among the business holders, with main distributors like AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure and Google cloud.

But as with the increase in the volume of data every minute, some short-comings of cloud computing can be seen in some situations. Edge computing is the answer to this problem. It is a way through which we can get data to the data centre for processing without causing any latency.

Edge computing can be used to process time-sensitive data to its remote locations and hence could act like mini data centres. It will grow as the usage of IoT devices will increase.

As with the growing market, edge computing will create various opportunities, primarily in SAAS  development solution field.

4) Internet of Things:

Iot is a technology you might have heard before. Many of us never believed that a TV, car, even home can be operated on the internet. But yes, those are all now been connected to the internet and operated untouched. Smart televisions, smart cars, smart homes are constantly connected to the internet using wifi service. Hence, it can be operated on voice commands.

IoT technology is going to take a huge turn in 2020. The upcoming years will boost the demand for IoT software. The development of IoT devices will need the skills in automation, cloud computing, and data analysis as well. Top Android application developers would have the opportunity to come up with some creative mobile application solutions to fulfill the demand.

5) Flexible  Screen Technology:

The screens we have come to see up till now were of LCD and LED. Many of us laughed on the concept of foldable screens which we could actually fold and use. The development of foldable screens has been in progress for the past 6 years. But only recently have some foldable screens been in the market.

Last November, Motorola’s MotoRazr was launched in the market which is a foldable smart-phone. MotoRazr is the world’s first commercially available foldable display smart-phone beating Huawei and Samsung.

The technology behind this is Flexible screen technology. Foldable phones are built around OLED screens. The pixels of an image displayed are actually built into the screen itself, unlike LCD displays. It is being printed on the thin layer of plastic so you can do whatever you want to. You can fold it to have a smaller screen or unfold it to have a larger screen.

As it is a flexible display, it is obvious that there is not a glass pane on it. That means when you touch and interact with the screen of any foldable smart-phone, you are not touching the glass pane, you are interacting with the screen itself, which is a thin plastic display.

Best IT service providers will be having numerous opportunities in the upcoming years to expand their business using these emerging technologies.

Conclusion:

To conclude this, I would like to add that no concept of technology is now impossible to implement with the advancements of extra-ordinary tools. Software developers will have great opportunities to extend their arms in their specific fields. User experience will be satisfied along with the advancement in emerging technologies.
